We think that every human being is really an artist, even though they may not think so.
This includes the people who "just" being the audience. When an audience is receptive and
responsive, what they are actually doing is contributing their own creativity to the performance.
This becomes a shared creative production that is led by the performers and
amplified by the audience. The result is a powerful and moving experience for everyone involved.
This does not happen without audience participation.
Artistic skill and talent varies from individual to individual. There is a scale of artistic
expertise and everyone is on it somewhere. It ranges from beginner, with zero skill,
to intermediate, to superb expert and beyond to the realm of the great artist.
We believe that whether someone writes a great novel or a hit song or whatever, now or
someday, is unimportant. It is the actual doing or participation that has an immensely
beneficial effect on individuals and their environment. We exist to encourage and foster the activity of creation, through the creative arts.
We are not art critics. We are investors, investing in
our communities and the future by aiding and supporting
creativity. We seek to create a positive and beneficial environment through our investment
in the creative arts.
We are not here to be starmakers.
Some of us may have what it takes to become stars or one of the great artists of all time,
if we have help and guidance along our way. Some of us will become proficient and some will just enjoy working with the creative arts.
But no matter what our personal aspirations are, we are all somewhere on the road that all artists must walk,
making our way as best we can. Let us take pleasure and inspiration from our individual
and shared creativity. Let us learn from and support the people that
are ahead of us and encourage and help those that are behind us. Let us ease the way for
everyone all along the way as much as we possibly can. This is the Creative Way.
