Chris Thayer plays acoustic-driven adult alternative, with clear folk & rock influences. Making a name for himself as the former lead vocalist of Stillwater Black, Chris has now ventured out on his own with an all new lineup of highly skilled musicians, picking up where his former project left off.

Having honed his skills in various blues, folk, and rock bands over the past few years, Chris fuses bits of each style into a gumbo of musical fun. Chris offers live shows which feature mostly upbeat, bouncy electric and acoustic tunes with melodies that scream "audience sing along."

He has been playing all over the Western United States, in such venues as Hollywood`s Hard Rock Cafe, Viper Room, Derby and Coconut Teazer; San Juan Capistrano`s Coach House and it's sister venue, the Galazy Theatre; West L.A.`s The Gig and 14 Below; and Newport Beach`s Hard Rock Cafe and Hugue Barmichael`s. He has opened for such acts as the Bacon Brothers (featuring Kevin and Michael Bacon), Dread Zeppelin, Dave Wakeling of English Beat/General Public, Led Zepagain, Rockapella, Charlie Robison, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers. Last fall he performed for two weeks on James Taylor's "Pull Over Tour" in Northern, CA, and Phoenix, AZ. Recently he opened for STYX at the Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino, CA, which also served as the record release party for Chris Thayer Band's new CD, entitled "Phoenix." With energetic material and a quirky sense of humor, each show promises to be a "feel-good" experience. Chris will be doing a solo acoustic tour of the West Coast in the summer of 2003
